Description: Ruined Tower by Hirst Arts

Size:
aprox 11" tall

Materials:
Plaster! Ruined tower mold #65

Method:
This project took weeks of casting plaster bricks from the Hirst Arts Molds, every morning, afternoon, and night before bed. This project took 16 castings all together, and required a lot of work making sure the bricks would fit perfect. This type of project really tests your ability and plaster brick casting methods, but was a very enjoyable project to create!

Highlights: The most fun part of this project for me was painting it. Doing the drybrush work was great fun watching all the detail pop off of the surface of the detailed Hirst Arts molded bricks. Every time I glued on a few rows, I couldn't help myself from stacking up the unlglued bricks to see what it would look like! This porbably slowed down my progress a great deal, but it was cool to see it come together.

Troubles: The only troubles I had with this project, were caused mainly because I used plaster as my casting material. The most difficult part for me was doing the pillars and making sure the seams were the least visable as possible. Athough in some areas you can see them. Although plaster is fragile, it is still my prefered material to use for hirst arts models.
